Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

Need to Get In Touch With a Lawyer

Dear Lawyers, A couple of weeks ago, I asked a question on this site about my tenant in Manhattan who disregarded my notice to pay his last month's rent. His security deposit of $2,200 has been practically used up on fees. I left messages for a couple of your lawyers, but have not heard from them. I'm here in Manhattan now, my tenant has moved out and I want to get the $2,200. Can you help?--name

Re: Need to Get In Touch With a Lawyer

The big question is: does he have a job? or does he have a bank account with money in it?

If the answer is yes, then you will be paid. A judgment can be quick and the account can then be seized or his wages garnished.

You can get your money.
