Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

My landlord is wrongly accusing me of not paying 2 months rent but refuses to provide statement detail. The lease finished in February 2012. Is there a statute for how long he can accuse me of nonpayment?

By law the landlord must provide you with a receipt of payment. There is a 6 year statute of limitations period for failing to pay under a contractual agreement.
