Legal Question in Personal Injury in New York

Incident while driving, involving a bicycle

I was driving through a side street, was going ~20mph, because usually there are cars pulling out of the mechanic shops(its a busy dealership).I was the only car driving, its a narrow street.I saw a pedestrian on a bike, I noticed his attention wasn't forward, he was swerving. He was looking to his right. I was on his left. As I was getting close to him, I honked so he won't run into my car. When I honked he looked back and swerved into my car, hitting my side passenger mirror.I quickly got out, spoke to him in english, he looked at me like i was in another planet.I spoke in spanish, said r u ok?want me to call the ambulance etc etc,he said no no, im ok.He didnt really say much, i mentioned to him that he was looking the other way.I had to get to work i asked him a few more times, r u ok? he said no,he got up.holding his side from hitting my mirror.I left, and he got up.I noticed him looking at my car.Should I be concerned?I did what I could, i didnt just hit n run.I was going to give my info, but he wouldnt of understood. What can i do to protect myself?I feel it was not my fault. He was riding with traffic.
