Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

I am hoping to make this one short and to the point. My aunt Dory is a real bad gambler and as a result of this addiction she was foreclosed on. She was so upset and went to stay with other family and get help with her addiction. She ended up owing the bank $ 29,000.00 that includes her late payments and the rest of the mortgage to pay the loan off. She had one judgment creditor for

$ 10,000.00. The rumor has it that the house sold for $ 70,000.00 according to the next door neighbor.

Now getting to my question: Does she have a right to the remainder of the monies? If so where to locate them and what is the process?

Any helpful information will help.

Thank you
