Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New York

selling share of tenants in common property

I own 1/4 share of 137.5 acres with two sisters and a brother. I have asked them to buy me out and they refused. Is there any way that I can force them to buy my share or sell the entire piece of property?

Re: selling share of tenants in common property

Yes. You must bring an action for partition in Supreme Court. See a lawyer in your area. It may be more difficult if you own your share jointly with the others, as opposed to separate shares as "tenants in common." Have the deed ready when you call the lawyer.
