Legal Question in Workers Comp in New York

Settling Wokers' Comp Case

I was injured at work in 2003 and have had 2 surgeries to my right hand, 3 surgeries to my right wrist, 2 surgeries to my right elbow, 2 surgeries to my right shoulder and 2 surgeries on my left knee. I have also developed RSD to my right arm. I am getting benefits based on total temp disability. My atty is telling me that I should settle with a section 32 and that I may be awarded anywhere from $75,000 to $135,000. Although that is a lot of money I feel that my life changing injury is worth much more than that. Is there another way to settle this case that would give me a larger award?

I believe that it is inappropriate to second guess your attorney. This website is for people who are unrepresented.

Having said that your attorney's figures sound about right. Workers Compensation settlements are worth much, much, much, much, much less than personal injury settlement.
