Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in North Carolina

Loan Issue

I am divorced. Upon leaving 10 years ago I left the house payments to my ex.The loan is in my name.I just found out that in 2005 2+ years and $45 a month were added on a new loan from the same company and the old loan is showing as paid in full. It also shows the loan as a JOINT ACCOUNT where previously it was a Shared, but otherwise undesignated account.I have never heard of any of this from my ex or from the company. My credit has suffered severely from her late payments for the last 10 years as it is.

Did someone have to forge my name to make this happen?.. will my credit will now--name removed--ruined--name removed--late payments for even more years to come??. Why would a large mortgage company do this without my consent?.

Re: Loan Issue

You really need to get some assistance from an attorney. I suggest you find an experienced divorce attorney (this is a divorce type problem) who is not too far from you, and ask the attorney for assistance. You will have to pay the attorney for the attorney's efforts.

There is a lot at stake. Get a lawyer!
