Legal Question in Criminal Law in North Carolina

profanity

On the job where I work, a co-worker is frequently using profanity, including the ''F...'' word. I was told that this word is considered ''against the law to say in public and someone can be arrested for this. Please inform me if this is true. I have tried ignoring this person to no avail. I do not want this to continue and feel that I do not have to listen to this in the work place. Please advise my rights. Thank you for your time. J.Ital

Re: profanity

Unfortunately, it is not against the law to say the F word. I wish it was! But if this person is harassing you, or causing a problem, hopefully your company has a reasonable supervisor who can tell you what channels to use in the company. Good Luck
