Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Stock

My spouse is cheating on me. It has got to the point I can not live with this any longer. He has some stock in his name only. Can this stock be frozen before I let him know that I know and Want him out of the house. I would like it frozen if possible until a settlement can be reached.

Re: Stock

That would depend on if it was classified as marital property. Did he obtain the stock during the marriage? Was it as a result of his job or willed or a gift to him? Or did he just buy stock-before the marriage? You probably can't have the stock "frozen" at this time. However, if it is counted as marital property you would be entitled to you share.
