Legal Question in Employment Law in North Carolina
I was hurt at work, the insurance company denied the claim. I have a lawyer on that part but, I was released to go back to work. Well my work said " my job was no longer open and they had a new one for me". It is part time making 7.25 and hr . I have been with the company 6 months and was a GM making 6 times what the new jobs pays. Can I quit and get unemployment in NC???

Your work comp lawyer should be dealing with this under the comp case. The magic words you need to utter into your lawyer's ear are "I am making 1/6 of what I was making before I got hurt. Is this job suitable employment for me?" If your lawyer does not explain why that is important and what he intends to do about it, then you have discovered a serious problem that will probably cost you a lot of money.
