Legal Question in Workers Comp in North Carolina

Getting Hurt On The Job

I was the head driver for a popular company and delivered appliances and TV's and such. While on the job delivering an appliance carrying this up two flights of stairs my helper dropped the appliance when a tendon in his shoulder popped straining a tendon. He dropped the appliance on my foot at that point I was carrying the appliance on my own, when it (the appliance) fell I then twisted my wirst trying not to allow the appliance to fall down the stairs. This company sent both of us to the doctor. We were written out for a week by the doctor and they put a brace on my knee and wrist. Since I'm not full time though I worked everyday except for Tues &Sundays. I was told I would get paid for the amount of hours I was scheduled to work. I had been looking for a full time job since I own a home with my parents and was told this job would be fulltime soon. I had worked for this co. for almost two years without benifits. I didn't recieve a ck. for the hours when I was paid the following week and haven't heard from the headquarters of this co. What are my options since I was told I would get paid and was marked out by their doctor?
