Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

Civil suit question

My parents sold my now ex-boyfriend a car a few years back. He signed a contract agreeing to pay them $8600 by January 2004. Included in this was a stipulation that any amount unpaid after this date would accrue 18% interest. Around 2/2004, he obtained a loan for approximately $5600 and gave my parents a certified check. We have made numerous attempts to arrange for repayment of the remaining balance but continue to be unsuccessful. I am going to file a complaint to civil court. I am having a problem obtaining the exact amount of the certified check that he gave my parents around 2/2004. I am not a signer on the loan so the credit union can't give me any details. Since my mom can't afford a lawyer, I have volunteered to draft the complaint for her and go from there (I went to college for Paralegal for some time and do have knowlege of the form). How can I get the credit union to give me details on the amount of his loan and the amount that the check was made for? I need this information in order to complete the complaint. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Civil suit question

Your dad can give you power of attorney or can simply make the request himself to the bank. Once you have the small claims complaint done, send it over and I wil review it for you - no charge.
