i am on a student visa..am i able to drive on my jamaican drivers license until my student visa expires?

No. You may drive for one year on your Jamaican driver's license in any state. That is per an international treaty. Ohio law, and most states require you to obtain the driver's license of that state within 30 days of residency. This particular law is superseded by the international treaty, and is mentioned in the Ohio BMV handbook. Also, you will need to have insurance coverage while driving in Ohio.
