Legal Question in Traffic Law in Ohio

Traffic ticket

My Fiance' was in an Alleged accident. A driver called Police and said she hit him. In the late Evening an officer came to her house in Struthers,OH Accident happened in Youngstown,OH. He looked at car and found that she had a scrape in the area the the driver reported the hit. He issued a ticket for unsafe lane change and ''hit skip''. we are going to pre trial next week. Her car has just a minor paint scrape and not any dent at all. she says she did not hit anyone and honestly the mark or lack of mark on car makes me believe this other driver is trying to get somethig for nothing. Just asking for advice or what to expect. her driver license is clean and had been for over 10 years and we want to keep it that way. any advice welcome. Also there were no witnesses according to the police report.

Re: Traffic ticket

In order to be convicted, the jury or court would have to be convinced that she knew she hit the other person and left anyway, so she needs to get out of this and it shouldnt be that hard...This is a first degree misdemeanor punishable by 6 months in jail, so feel free to contact me directly for clarification.216.952.1990
