Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Money market benefciary

My mother-inlaw has a will that leaves everything to her 2 remaining children to be split in 1/2.

My question is about money she has in a Money Market Account.

My wife's brother is the sole benificiary on the account. Does the funds in this account go directly to him or will they be split under the terms of the will?

Re: Money market benefciary

The Money Market Account will pass to your wife's brother if he is listed as the beneficiary and will not be governed by the terms of the will. The will only applies to property that that will be probated.
