Legal newspapers and other information retrieval services will pick up and report the fact of your filing. As to who has access to the reports will depend on the type of news service and who their subscribers are. The filed schedules can be viewed by people who go to the bankruptcy court or access the information online via the internet if they have paid the fees for such access. Creditors listed in your schedules are notified by the court of the filing.

Your bankruptsy is public record and can be accessed by anyone by simply going to the court clerk's office.

You have actually asked two questions. The first, who knows, has already been answered. The second one however requires some advice.

You asked what does the trustee know about you ... the advice is this: Bankruptcy is a gift the government gives you, but you have to be honest. Assume that the trustee knows EVERYTHING that you don't want him to know. If you lie, you will be guilty of purgery and punished accordingly. Don't risk it!
