Legal Question in Family Law in Oklahoma

Willing property to children

My husband of 11 years has 2 grown children & I have 4. In the event of my death before him, I'm 100 0/0 sure that my children wouldn't see an inheritence as he's very selfish & would will everything to his. I've worked very hard to get where we are. Without me, he'd be thousands of dollars in debt as he has no idea as to handle money. I scrimp & basically do without to make ends meet. We do have some assets & I'd like to know that my half of everything would be left to my children, not his. Is there a way I can make a will that would make this happen?

Re: Willing property to children

Yes and no. You can will your property to your children. However, your husband has a right to receive a portion of your estate, by statute. You should make a list of all your assets and how title to those assets is held. Then you will need to meet with an attorney who is experienced in estate planning to review your particular situation and wishes. If you are in the Tulsa area, feel free to give me a call.
