Legal Question in Employment Law in Oklahoma

Employment Retaliation?

I worked for a dental office for 1 1/2 years. In the past 6 months my husband and I got to be good friends with one of the dentist. The office manager then started treating me badly. I was called into her office and yelled at and written up for getting my work done too fast. She forced me to sign a piece of paper saying I resigned. The same dentists immediately hired me on the spot at their other office. I get a call 1 1/2 days later at the new office saying I could no longer work there, due to the office manager at my old office making such a stink about it. Do I have grounds for a lawsuit?

Re: Employment Retaliation?

Oklahoma is an at-will employment state, meaning you can quit anytime and your employer can terminate you at anytime; for any reason or for no reason. The rule is limited by public policy reasons, for example, race, color, religion, disability, etc. Based on what you state in the question, you don't likely have a legal argument.
