Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Oregon

I can't pay back loan, they are taking me to court.

I live in Southern California. I bought a used car in CA with a

car loan, the car got repossessed in CA and now the loan

company is taking it to small claims court, in Oregon.

Anything I knew about the company has been in CA, now

they are filing from Oregon. I don't have the money to pay

them back or to even be able to get to Oregon for the

hearing. What can I do?

You might write a letter to the court in Oregon explaining all of the circumstances and even attach a copy of the agreement showing that you lived in CA at the time. Tell the court that the case should be dismissed and, if anything, be filed in your county in California . . . unless the agreement, itself, specifies that jurisdiction would be in Oregon. Read the fine print.
