judgement property

i had a car repossed in 1995, it shows on credit report as settled, and they put a judgement on my home in 2007 after i divorced my wife, i am now trying to sell home and it is stopping in and they are demanding full payment is it legal to do this, and how can i get the judgement removed so i can sell and is there a time limit they can put a judgement on

I answered your other questio before I looked at this. The big question is whether the case was actually settled. Sometimes the creditor does not mark the Docket as settled. If the case was actually settled and is still showing on the Docket, you definitely have a defense.

You noted that they put the judgment on your home after you and your wife divorced. That indicates to me that your home was held jointly and the deficiency judgment was against you. If the case was not settled then I don't see any way around the judgment except to pay or settle it.
