Wage garnishment

Can a wage garnishment for a civil judgement be enforced in the state of pa. They sued me in new york but i lived in pa. The company was bally total fitness for a gym membership from six years ago. What can i do to stop this wage garnishment

Wages are exempt from garnishment in Pennsylvania. In order to attach anything in Pennsylvania they would have to transfer the judgment to your county. You would have an opportunity to contest the transfer and, since you lived in Pennsylvania and were sued in New York, they probably did not have personal jurisdiction and it would be worthwhile to oppose transfer of the judgment.
