parental rights

i am from pennsylvania, my daughter was taken away by children & youth because her mother abandoned her in a grocery store . i am not able to have contact with her because i had some dealings with c& y 16 yrs ago. is this considerd termination of my parental rights and am i still obligated to pay child support? thank you.

Re: parental rights

You are obligated to pay child support until your child reaches the age of 18. If children and youth has custody, it is the obligee. Your parental rights will only be terminated if someone seeks to adopt the child. In that event, the proposed adoptee would contact you to seek your voluntary relinquishment of your rights. Until that happens, you are the father and will continue to be financially responsible.
