Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Not receiving child support

Hello. I have a court order for child support and I haven't received a payment since July 28, 2004. I have been in touch with the domestic relations office and they told me he is out on sick leave and they were waiting for a report from the doctor which they received but haven't told me anything yet. I have 3 children and right now he owes them $1200. What I want to know is, if he is out on sick leave for an extended period how do i get my money, can't they make him go try to get some kind of temp. disability or welfare or something? I don't see how they can just let this go. Also my son saw his father working on a street crew but I have no proof other than his word, this was just this past week. Please tell me if there is anything I can do and if I have any rights?? Thank you!!

Re: Not receiving child support

Do you have a garnishment order already? If you don't, you need to file a petition for contempt of support, it will intercept tax refunds and get at any w-4 income he may receive. The fact that your son saw him on a road crew is disturbing. He may be being paid in cash which would not be reported via w-4. If your son is sure you may want to assert this and attempt to prove it. I offer free consultations.
