guaranteed compensation

Does an employer have to pay out the guaranteed salary agreed to on a employment contract that is at will?

Yes. But you will not receive your full annual salary if you are discharged before it can be completed. You do not have a K for a definate term of duration. If you have questions, contact me privately so that your duty of confidentiality cannot be defeated.
