Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Insufficient funds for paycheck

After my paycheck was declined for insufficient funds, I filed a Wage Complaint Form. About a month later the investigator advised me to file a complaint at the District Justice. I am looking for an answer to a question they asked me at the District Justice Office. Should I file a civil or criminal complaint? The paycheck is for over $1,000. Also, the company also owes me two more paychecks plus about $5,000 in doctor bills. Although I am only concerned about the first paycheck at this time, could my course of action have any effect on recovering those other amounts?

Re: Insufficient funds for paycheck

You should proceed with a civil action. There is a law called the Wage Payment and Collection Law that protects you from this kind of activity.
