Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

Auto Insurance: Rights for Lost Wages

I was just in an accident and lost time from work. My insurance adjuster said that they can not pay for first 5 days off work. Is this true? He said it was a Pennsylvania law. I only missed seven days, not to mention time off for physical therapy an hour here and there; however, my company paid me & should be reimbursed for my lost time somehow. Thanks for your help!

Re: Auto Insurance: Rights for Lost Wages

Generally, first-party benefits for lost wages do not kick in until after 5 days. However, if there was another driver that caused the accident, you may be able to recover the other lost wages, plus compensation for your time and pain and suffering, from their insurance company. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me.
