Legal Question in Traffic Law in Pennsylvania

Speeding tickets

I received a ticket for speeding in York, Pa on Rte 30. This is my first ticket and I need to know what to do. I do not want points on my license and I can not afford the amount of the citation. What can I do to lessen the amount of the ticket and lessen or not receive any points on my license. I read that you receive 4pts for speeding 16-25 miles over. I need help

Re: Speeding tickets

Pennsylvania and Maryland differ significantly in regard to traffic offenses.

One big difference is that the fines in Pa. are much higher than they are in Md. Pa. and Md. are part of the

inter-state compact which means that points in one state will reflect on your license in another state (but I have seen administrative errors in this accord). After the trial, give a few months and pull

your Md. record to make sure it is correct. If you cannot afford the ticket, you probably cannot afford an attorney. You should

bring a certified copy of your driving record to trial and this should be dated very close to the trial date.

There are too many scenerios for me to try to describe how to handle the trial. If your record is clean,

then you want to make this known. Be humble before the bench and show the judge your utmost respect by referring to him/her

as "Your Honor". I hope that it works out well for you.
