traffic ticket appeal

a few months ago i hired a lawer to help me with my traffic tickets because according to the traffic courts in pennsylvania i would not be able to plead my case unless i have a lawer (traffic courts)? nothing more then moving violation so i abided

by the courts wishes and done so i hire this guy under the pretense that he would be my legal voice i paid him 400 for his service plus 35 for so call appeal fee several months went buy did not here anything finally i called to find out what is going on he tells me that i need an additional 200 to get into a payment plan before an appeal can be issued so again i abide to later find out that 100 was for him and 75 for court cost which 25 turn out to be appeal fee ($35)? finally i get a court date soon after that i received a notice from my socalled lawer tht i need an additional 350 for so called court cost help me what can i do?

Well, if you want an attorney, you should hire a different one or pay this one.

I'm sure your county bar association has a fee dispute resolution program. You should call them to see if your situation may qualify for mediation of the fees involved here.

I will say that the fees are not out of line. The only question is whether the lawyer told you how much he would charge you for the entire case, whether there was a fee agreement between you and hte lawyer, etc.
