Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Child Support and Child Custody

A social worker told me that if I didn't sign up for the AFDC program, then my son's father would not be able to get visitation rights. Is that true?

Re: Child Support and Child Custody

No. Don't listen to those people. They are social workers, and that is it. They are not lawyers and are not qualified to give legal advice. You are welcome to tell that person what I just said and I will be more than happy to take his/her phone call and tell her myself. I don't mean to be so abrasive, but I get sick and tired of those people giving bad advice and hurting people as a result. Tell them to call me and I will be happy to set them stright.
