Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

child support/custody

im about to marry a man who has a 2yr old child. His ex girlfriend is starting to make demands such as; wants half of his paycheck every week, wants him to pay for all of daycare, water bill, car insurance, car payment etc. She also seems to think that she has control over his visitation, saying that i have to leave, and the child can only be at his sisters house and other ridiculous things. They have not been to court and im not sure when they will go, he wants to see his son but refuses to make her demands. Can she really get all of those things from him? What should we do to see this is takin care of ? is there a possibility of us getting custody?

Re: child support/custody

I am very sorry, but I cannot begin to answer your questions. If this went to court, the judge would make all financial decisions based on each of the paries' depts, assests, income, expenses etc., along with any needs of the child. All of these things I know nothing about. As to visitation, the judge would consider what was in the best interest of the child, along with what would work best for the parents. Again, I simply do not have enough information. I also don't know enough to advise you as to whether you could get custody. Since there is so much information that an attorney would need to know, and only an attorney would know what questions to ask, why don't you call a local family law attorney and let him or her ask you the pertinent questions and you can go from there.
