Emancipation of Minors

In South Carolina, a minor can legally move out from their parents/guardians, but is that through emancipation or because they are considered an adult?

Re: Emancipation of Minors

Until 18 years of age, the age of majority, a child is under the control the parents who are responsible for the support, care and comfort of the child. In cases of emanncipation, the general rule is that the parents have some participation in the decision. A child can not just decide to run away from home and relieve the parents of their responsibilities. I am not aware of any law which allows children to run away legally.
