Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Military Allimony

I was awarded Military Allimony till a judge from the civil courts say otherwise. My husband is contesting it before the courts. There are no natural kids between us. He abandoned me after only 9 months of marriage. He states he did this because he wanted only me and not my kids. So he left. We both brought debt into the marriage and we both during the marriage paid on those debts. We both have the same jobs we did when we married. What are the chances that I will be able to keep that allimony.

Re: Military Allimony

I'm not really sure why you got alimony in the first place. Alimony is usually based upon the length of the marriage and the disparity in incomes. I do not know what your respective incomes are, but only being married for 9 months puzzles me as to why you would recieve much alimony, or any at all. I really would need to have more financial information before I could predict your chances in the civil court.
