Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Hi, obtaining a divorce as a plantiff, and the defendant does not want a divorce or does the person send the papers back,and have been seperated more than one year. Will the judge still grant the plantiff a divorce without the papers been mailed back or an response?

It is not necessary for the Defendant to file or do anything in response, provided he/she was properly served. If there was not proper service, then the case cannot go forward.
