Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

minor car accident

I was in a minor ''fender bender'' and at the scene (in front of witnesess) the person I hit said that her mother had hit her car in the same spot (cracked the bumper and tail light) and she had planed on getting it fixed anyway. I scratched her bumper, just something that could be buffed out. now she is blaming me for the whole bumper and tail light and wanting me to pay $1700.00. I am I going to have to go to court with these witnesses or is there something else I can do?

Re: minor car accident

Call your own insurance company and report the accident with all of the details you have related here. I don't know if you will be sued or not. The person you hit must decide that. You are not liable for damage you did not do.
