Legal Question in Traffic Law in South Carolina

Right of way law

I was given a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way after in merged onto traffic on the interstate and was about 1 mile on the interstate and a tractor trailer truck ran in the back of my truck and I was considered in the wrong by the officer. The officer stated that I failured to yield the right of way but the truck was no where insight when I merged on the interstate and the driver had lanes on both sides of my truck to move over into before he ran in the back of me. The driver ran directly in the back of my trailer, and I can not understand why I am at fault. The officer had came to a conclusion before he even ask my side of the story or my wife who was never question. He basically draw his conclusion from the other driver's statement.

People ask questions about these types of tickets and those questions are in regards to evidence, trials, possible defenses, fines, points, the process, etc.
