Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Tennessee

my son has been mandated by his high school and school board to sign a contract (personal Appearence) for his graduating commencement ceremony. The letter states that if it is not signed he will not be allowed to participate in graduation. It also asks that the parent sign this. I feel this is a direct violation of constitutional rights. Please advise
