Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Contract signing

I contacted a company to set up alarm service. I asked if i would be under contract. I was told no. A agent came out to reset my alarm with their code. Nothing was installed. My husband was told he was signing showing someone came out. I decided to go back to my former company. The company informed me i could not cancel less than 5 years. This was in fine print on the back of the form. The paper listed me and my husband as purchaser. Only my husband signed not knowing this was a contract. Is thi legal?

Re: Contract signing

YES IT IS ABSOLUTELY LEGAL. THE LAW PRESUMES THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING. THE FACT THAT YOUR HUSBAND DID NOT READ THE FINE PRINT IS NO EXCUSE. MIND YOU I HAVE NOT SEEN THE CONTRACT BUT JUST BASED ON WHAT YOU'VE TOLD ME, YOU BOTH ARE BOUND BY THE TERMS IN THE CONTRACT.
