Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Child Support and Divorce Legalities

What should I do if my ex-wife has came back on me for back child support and I found out that really our divorce was never signed by a Judge I have been remarried twice and never even knew that we were not divorced so is what was stated in said divorce legal or not? Since this divorce was not legal is the child support still in effect? If not can I make it where I get soul custody of my daughter and make her pay me child support? The child above is going to be 16 yrs of age in January will I only have to pay for the next two years? Thank You

Re: Child Support and Divorce Legalities

You present a complicated situation. How do you know the divorce judgment is not legal? Even so, there may be some earlier order that is still in effect. You may be able to sue your ex for fraud if you have remarried, etc., although there may be some duty on your part to check things out. Is there a valid order giving your ex-wife custody? It sounds interesting. If you are serious, give me a call. Bill Stern 248-353-9400
