How does child support work when both parents owe?
My ex-husband did not pay child support for a year. He owes me $4000. He now has custody of our son. He says that he does not have to pay me any of that even though it was court ordered. Is this true?

You'd have to look at all of the court orders that exist in your case to make certain, but it is likely that he still owes the money to you. You should have an attorney review those documents and you will be able to get a better answer.
