Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

my daughter is 40 married 20 yrs 2 children 8 and6 her husband just came out and said I want a divorce she has not worked in 8 years he told her she would have to get a job to paid for the house and other living expenses he told her that in lieu of a lawyer they shold go to a meadator(she has no money he did all the banking) he wants to stay in the house until she finds a job then he will leave he out every nite came home drunk a few times what I need to know is does she need to get a job or should he pay her and child support should she let him stay should she get a lawyer and if so how much will she except to pay

You wrote a long paragraph without any punctuation in your writing. Most lawyers would prefer clients who are intelligent and display that in their writing style. Your daughter will need to hire a divorce attorney, because her husband is offering unfair terms for the divorce. She might have to get a job to support herself; alimony is not automatically given when couples divorce. Contested divorce attorneys are expensive in my opinion. I doubt an attorney would want to get involved in this case without being paid a $2,500 retainer up front.
