Legal Question in Immigration Law in Tennessee

Separation from a Foreign National

I brought back a woman from Bolivia who was pregnant with my child to give birth in the USA. Our daughter is a US born citizen. The woman is a foreign national with permanent residency granted upon certain conditions; we left Bolivia relatively quickly and I was granted ''responsibility'' for her. (The pregnancy wasn't made known to me until well along.)We are at the point in our relationship where it is no longer healthy for our daughter, or either of us, to live together and I would like to move out and retain full custody of my daughter. We have never been married in the US and I provide full support for our daughter. What is my legal obligation toward her mother? She has been in the country since May of 2003. I also believe there is a significant flight risk; she wouldn't hesitate to try and take our daughter out of the country.

Re: Separation from a Foreign National

You should contact a TN family law attorney to legally establish your parental rights and possibly register an injunction against removal of the child from the jurisdiction.
