Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Tennessee

malpractice or mishandling?

On Dec. 17th 2007 I had my prostate removed robotically. A bone scan showed that I had some degeneration in my neck but I had no problems from this and worked my job until the surgery. During the surgery I had some problems breathing and the surgery was slowed because of this. My surgeon said the problem was because they inflated me too much to allow them more room to peform my procedure. The only thing I know is after the surgery I was unable to use my hands and arms. I subsequently had neck surgery two months later to correct the problem. While that surgery helped I am still unable to perform my regular job and now my neurosurgeon says I need to retire from my job and has released me as a patient. I don't know if I'll be eligible for social security benefits yet or not. Should I persue legal action against the medical facility where the first surgery was peformed? If so how long do I have to do so?

Re: malpractice or mishandling?

This sounds like a case of malpractice. I would need to review your medical records to give you a firm opinion. I would be happy to do so if you will contact me.
