Zoning vs. iminent domain

What is the difference between zoning and iminent domain?

Zoning is merely a restriction on what you can do on your property (i.e. designation as residential or commercial). Eminent domain is when the government takes part of your land for its own use (i.e. to put in a road or build a park).
