Legal Question in Disability Law in Texas

Disabled Parking

My son had knee surgery and parked in a handicapped space at school. I received a notice in the mail that a picture had been taken of the vehicle parked without the proper handicapped placard. I spoke to the school, they called the DA to verify he was on crutches, even the police officer assigned to the school told me to call the DA and he more than likely would drop the ticket if I took in the doctor's statements, etc. The DA refused to drop charges against me (the vehicle is in my name), and wants to rewrite the ticket in my son's name, make him pay the fine and give him community service. Is there anything I can do?

Re: Disabled Parking

Yeah. Either move from this town, or

become active in the next election and remove

this ***hole as District Attorney.

Alternative, fight it in court when you do get

the ticket. Maybe the Judge is rational.
