repession

i turned one of my autos in because i could not afford to pay for 2 autos as the one i turned in was in the shop most of the time and i even talked to a lemon law attorney can the garnish my social security check for the balance owed after the sale of the vehical turned in my privacy act was violated the collection agency that is sueing me told me when my other vehical was purchased and how much my payments were and they know i have credit cards my income is at the povery level with ss i just barley have enough to live on what can they do to me if my ss check is garnished i have no means of income

No your SS cannot be garnished..but your bank accounts could be taken IF the creditor gets a court order..and if all you have is a debt, not court order to pay, the creditor can do nothing. But...tell collection agencies to quit calling, write them to stop and keep a copy of your letter to collection and creditor..then if they keep calling you may have a lawsuit for unfair debt collection..
