Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my 17 year old step-son has been ordered to go to court for child support, the paper that was served to him says that he has to fill some stuff out and submit to court, what does he need to fill out and would the judge tell himwhat he has to pay when we go to court? he does not work, would me and her mom be responsible for back pay or any other fees?

1. The "fill this out" paperwork is from the Attorney General. Don't fill it out. Really. Don't fill it out.

He should file an answer (general denial) that demands DNA testing.

2. His parents will NOT be responsible for paying any child support, current or retroactive.

3. The Judge will PROBABLY suspend child support until he finishes high school. In the alternative, he will set it based on 40 hours per week at minimum wage.

I highly recommend that you retain an attorney to represent him.

He is a minor (until he is 18) therefore the parent that has legal custody of him must be present with him in court.

He MUST ask for DNA testing NOW! If he waives it, then he cannot ask for it later.
