Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a child that has lived with me under a "gentlemans agreement" from my ex-husband for almost 4 years. All custody and divorce was done in Ky, She went to visit for a month of the summer and now her dad will not let her come back. Can I file for her custody to me moved to Tx or do I have to keep it in Ky?

Unfortunately, your 'gentleman's agreement' does not trump a court order. It is only in unusual circumstances that you can modify a foreign court order in Texas. Your best option is to hire a KY attorney, get the order modified, then register it in Texas.
