Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My daughter just went to live with her dad at 15. At what point does he stop paying child support?

When the Court order changes.

You can't change a court order by sending a child to live elsewhere.

Dad is (probably) entitled to a modification of the order if his daughter is now living with him. It doesn't happen automatically.

If the child is now living with him; and if you continue to receive child support (perhaps through wage garnishment); the honest thing to do would be to return the money to Dad. Keep a good record of it, though.

I agree with Attorney Mark Dunn.

It appears that you live in the Houston area.

If you are both in agreement and just need paperwork drafted and submitted to the Judge to sign, call me. I'd be glad to try to help you.
