You are in a formal proceeding. Judges must sign court orders if your obligation is to be changed. Behave in a formal manner or expect that somewhere down the road it will come back to bite you, hard. Get a lawyer to file a formal modification of the last order.

Since there is a court order that you must pay child support, then you must pay it until the court order is changed by a judge. You should hire a lawyer to file a petition for modification of the former court order due to a change in the actual living arrangements. Continue to pay the child support until the old order is replaced by a new one.
