Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I live in pasadena Tx and ive recently left my husband: we have been married for tweenty four years . We have three grown children and one three year old.I had to move out with my small child due to verbal abuse, im staying with a family member and i go to school part time. I have no money of my own and he is telling me he will not give me or our son any. I don't know what to do to make him at least pay for the support of our son and things related to this car, car insurance, money for food. I am looking for a job but ill also have to pay for daycare, he is making this very difficult so what should i do? PLEASE HELP!

File for divorce and ask for temporary orders. A judge will order him to pay child support and perhaps even some temporary spousal support. If he controls all the money in the family, then the attorney can even ask that the judge order him to help pay your legal fees. Look on this website and on www.avvo.com for a family law attorney. There are plenty in Houston & Pasadena.

Good luck!
